Participated in interaction programme of human right fifth action plan review workshop of Gandaki province
on 6th December 2023, the team of TOLI participated in interaction programme of human right fifth action plan review workshop of Gandaki province in Pauwa Resort Lakeside Pokhara. The programme was jointly organized by INSEC, Human Rights Commission and Province government of Gandaki province. The interaction workshop was chaired by chief secretary of chief minister’s office Ms. Laxmi Kumari Basnet. The status of the human rights of Gandaki province was presented by Mr. Shambhu Raj Regmi the secretary of Ministry of Social welfare and health and Mr. Khim Lal Subedi the for chief of Human Rights Commission Gandaki Province. In the interaction session Mr. Bishnu Prasad Baral from Manav Sewa Ashram, Mr. Shiva Sharma Children Nepal, Ms. Keshu Bhujel from Mahila Rakshak Sanjal chairperson. Ms. Sumitra Gayak from Dalit Women Association, Mr. Giridhari Sharma were spoke out on various aspect of human rights discrepancies and violences. On that occassion TOLI chairperson Mr. Padma Kiran Rana raised lacking of disable friendly structures at school in toilets, drinking water taps & class room, health insurance services and monkey problems in Kaski district. Due to monkey problem more than 50% land of the rural municipalities have been converted into barren land as a result it threatened the food security to the entire communities of that areas. On that occassion Mr. Nawa Raj Ojha the chairperson of Rupa rural municipality and chairperson of the rural municipality association Gandaki province was stressed on monkey problems and its negative consequences in human life in Kaski district, the chief minister Mr. Surendra Raj Pandey also emphasised the same and committed to available enough budget for its remedies. The chairperson of the review workshop Ms. Laxmi Kumari Basnet the chief secretary concluded the workshop.
